Appeals
Appealing a moderation decision
We try to get moderation right, but we know mistakes happen. If you believe an action against your account or content was incorrect, here is how to appeal.
Appealing a suspension
Go to the suspended account page
When your account is suspended, you are redirected to the /suspended page each time you sign in. From there you can access the appeal form.
Complete the appeal form
Explain clearly why you believe the suspension was incorrect. Include relevant context — what you were posting, what you intended to communicate, and why it does not violate our Community Guidelines.
Submit and wait for review
Appeals are reviewed by our moderation team, typically within 3 business days. You will receive an in-app notification with the outcome once a decision is made.
Outcome
If your appeal is upheld, your account is reinstated. If it is rejected, the suspension stands. You may not submit a second appeal for the same suspension.
What about a held comment?
If your comment was held by Automod for review (rather than your entire account being suspended), the process is different:
- Held comments are reviewed by moderators, usually within 24 hours
- If it is approved, it will appear in the feed automatically
- If it is removed and you believe that was incorrect, use the account suspension appeal route above and explain the situation
What we cannot overturn
Some actions are not eligible for appeal:
- Permanent bans issued for violations involving CSAM, threats, or severe repeat harassment
- Actions taken to comply with legal requirements
- A second appeal for the same action after an initial appeal was rejected
Tips for a clear appeal
- Be specific — describe exactly what happened and why you believe it was a mistake
- Be honest — appeals are reviewed by people, not more algorithms
- Reference the Community Guidelines — explain why your content does not violate them
- Do not submit multiple appeals for the same incident
Understand what led to the action
